Anne Buessow & Eckhard Froeschlin visited UArts here in Philadelphia to talk about their press in Germany, Edition Schwarze Seite. They both create beautiful prints to go along with text created by other artists/poets/writers include Gertrude Stein. They had an interesting perspective on how they can collaborate with other artists and how they interpret traditional texts such as the original writings of the Grimm Fairy Tales which have been subsequently watered down to Disney stories.
Here’s a quick photo of them showing off their books in the bindery.
